Weaving in the Sun

It’s Summer, it’s been way too hot — but I’ve been craving some time on the loom. And how can you not when you come across woven work like these? Colors, materials and textures that scream Summer inspiration!

Beat the heat and join me for some weaving in the breezy Catskills mountains. What better way to learn how to weave and get inspired than surrounded by natural goodness?

The Textile Arts Center will be teaching a week intensive on weaving at the beautiful Keshini Fiber Farm (ran by the lovely Ambika Conroy), from August 20-24th.

Students will learn how to dress their own loom, read a weaving pattern, select yarn, create a inspiration board with color and texture and speciality dyeing-weaving techniques, such as ikat, using natural dyes.
