STATE + Sculpture: Adrienne Antonson

A few weeks ago, after putting out the call for submissions to the blog from our readers, I got a lovely email from Adrienne Antonson. I had seen her work earlier this year, and I was so happy to be reminded of it!

It’s not often you come across such a well-rounded — and, in her words “resourceful” — maker, who maintains a very specific aesthetic. Adrienne works in both sculpture and fashion. While both sets of work stand apart from one another, her attention to detail and focus on material shines through. From repurposed clothing and fabrics to create hand-sewn garments, to life-like sculptures made of human hair and other found materials, Adrienne hits a nice note of intimacy in her work across the board. She is most certainly resourceful, and I enjoy going between her two passions where she explores and stays true to concepts and themes, whether applying her creativity to sculpting objects or sculpting for the body.

To check out Adrienne’s line, STATE, join us this Thursday to kick off NYFW!

Enjoy!
