Notebooks to Dye For

No dyeing work starts without making swatches. And any experienced dyer knows that swatches should be organized and labeled for future reference. But even experience dyers sometimes have a hard time finding the best way to create their swatch book… And some like me, “chose” to not organize them at all, and keep notes and recipes scattered in too many little pieces of paper. And secretly envying awesome (and useful!) swatch books like these:

via natural color

via Lillstreet Art Center

via The Red Carpet Project

via eco-artware-notes

via Fiber Musings

  1. Thanks for these examples. I need to get to work now. I am one of these dyers who doesn’t keep enough records and my goal is to change that. I love the way it is done in these books.
